Process Control Temperature Sensors

The sensor assembly types shown on this page can be used to measure temperatures in ovens, liquids, gases and housing or plate surfaces. The assemblies can be used as replacement sensors for systems that have thermowells in place or as stand alone sensors. All the assemblies can be built to any specifications to meet size, time response, accuracy, temperature range, different types of mounting requirements, cost and type of temperature sensor needs (RTD, Thermistor or Thermocouple).

Thermocouples can be constructed of insulated wires inside tubes (900 Deg. F rating) or MgO insulated wires inside tubes (2150 Deg. F rating). For higher accuracy of temperature measurement Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTD's) can be used over a range of -200 to +850 Deg. C. Thermistors can be used in the above sensor styles to give easier temperature measurements with the high resistance characteristics they have and offering lower sensor costs but a narrower temperature range.
